Purpose

This Senior BBA Career Coach position is a key member of the BBA Career Education and Coaching team which is housed within McCombs Career Management & Corporate Relations. The Outcomes, Programming, & Assessment Lead plays a crucial role in supporting undergraduate BBA students through personalized career coaching, innovative programming, and data-driven career education initiatives. Each Career Coach supports a unique student caseload based on specific BBA majors, industries (e.g., Consulting, Investment Banking, Technology), and/or special populations (e.g., international students). This role will focus on the assessment and enhancement of career initiatives to maximize team effectiveness and student engagement.

Responsibilities

STRATEGY, INNOVATION, AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

  • Manage tracking of student employment outcomes for internship and full-time roles. Collaborate with the Career Management & Corporate Relation’s Data Analytics and Strategy team to develop and enhance reports and first-destination dashboard(s).
  • Serve as the functional lead for RecruitMcCombs, the department’s career management platforms.
  • Update and maintain user documentation, training materials, and tech stack (e.g., student website, team wiki).


CAREER PROGRAMMING, ASSESSMENT, & ENGAGEMENT

  • Lead the assessment, development and implementation of current and new programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing student, faculty, and staff engagement in career development (e.g., Career Champions, industry programming).
  • Analyze student engagement data (e.g., appointments, events, etc.), leveraging the advanced capabilities of the 12Twenty platform dashboard for efficient data aggregation to inform strategic planning.
  • Plan and coordinate panels, workshops, and other events for students, collaborating with the Employer & Alumni Engagement team as needed.
  • Manage programming funds and submit requests, adhering to UT and McCombs policies and procedures.
  • Oversee student and/or graduate assistants in executing programming initiatives and analyzing student engagement.


CAREER COACHING

  • Advise and educate a specific caseload of undergraduate students in their career search through individual career coaching and small group advising.
  • Provide information to students on career-related topics such as internship and job opportunities, employer and recruiting trends, utilization of job search tools, interview preparation, offer evaluation, salary negotiation, etc.
  • Conduct mock interviews, perform detailed review of recruiting documents (e.g., resume, cover letter, etc.) and assist in creating individual job search strategies.
  • Track student progress and employability, conduct outreach, and collect internship and post-graduation destination information.
  • Serve as liaison to student organizations and faculty relevant to student caseload.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and trends in career coaching and undergraduate recruiting.


CAREER EDUCATION: TEACHING & RESOURCES

  • Provide support to Senior Coach (BA 101 curriculum lead) around course evaluation and assessment.
