Outpatient Registered Nurse, Surgical Oncology (Bing Cancer Center)

Job Description Summary:

This position is full time (40 hours per week) at the Bing Cancer Center. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8-4:30 PM. There is no call or weekend hours, and the office is closed for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

This practice consists of 4 very busy attending surgeons, 1 of which specializes in breast and endocrine surgery, and the other 3 specialize in hepatobiliary surgery. The RNs in this practice are essential for efficient care delivery. Day to day tasks primarily consist of phone call triage and rooming patients, as well as collaboration with other members of the team. Attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are essential for success in this role.

This position provides nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Current registered nurse license from the State of Ohio. Knowledge in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. BLS Certification.
