The Physical Therapy Fellow is currently licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Ohio. This individual will work within a team oriented rehabilitation program. These services are offered via outpatient service sites to patients who have neurologic conditions and movement disorders. The team members report to the rehabilitation manager as part of the OSUWMC Ambulatory Rehab program structure.
Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Fellow works under the general supervision of the Rehab Manager, Program Director and Associate Director of Education and Professional Development.. The Physical Therapy Fellow evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Ohio. Although team members report directly to a team leader, they are also responsible to each other, staff physical therapists, to those they supervise and to other participants included in the patient care activities.
Minimum Qualifications
All Physical Therapy Fellows must hold current licensure with the State of Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board as well as any additional program admissions criteria including board specialization and/or successful completion an accredited residency. Candidate must have NCS or GCS OR have completed a Neurologic or Geriatric Physical Therapy Residency program.

The goal of the Neurologic Movement Disorders PT fellowship is to develop subspecialty didactic, clinical skills, participation in research/knowledge translation projects and professional behaviors within the domains of practice established by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE). The goals will be accomplished through didactic learning modules for specific movement disorders, guided clinical mentorship, participation in research, teaching experiences within the respective physical therapy programs, and additional observational and active learning experiences. This robust program offers the opportunity to develop sub-specialists in neurologic movement disorders to address the unique symptomatology, progressive and debilitating clinical course, and complex healthcare needs for patients with neurologic movement disorders. This fellowship will have the potential to leverage the educational expertise of both sites through faculty cooperation and fellow collaboration.
