ASSA ABLOY Norton Rixson in Monroe, NC is the North American center of excellence for door motion control products. Primarily sold under the Norton Rixson brand, we manufacture and distribute mechanical and electro-mechanical door closers, low energy door operators, concealed door closers, and various accessories related to door motion control.

 

Reporting directly to the Manager of Networks and Infrastructure, we are seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join our ASSA ABLOY Norton Rixson team. The primary role of the IT Operations Engineer is to ensure critical IT infrastructure, business-critical processes, and supporting systems continue to meet or exceed business stakeholder needs. This position serves a vital role in ensuring operational integrity and stability, allowing continuous production 24/7/365 without interruption. Therefore, the IT Operations Engineer is a hands-on worker who will collaborate with all departments to provide new solutions and ideas that increase operational performance and efficiency and help to drive down cost.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Within ASSA ABLOY standards and guidelines, you will be responsible for:
    • Purchase, install, document, and maintain all computer systems, including but not limited to macOS and Windows clients, Windows and Linux servers, mobile iOS and Android clients including phones, handheld scanners, and tablets, VMWare clusters, Azure resources and workloads, DR appliances such as Veeam Backup & recovery and ASRs, printers and copiers, VoIP equipment, time clocks, access control hardware, security camera systems, and conference room automation.
    • Maintaining all software and hardware, including purchasing, licensing & renewals, installation, upgrades, and patching. Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform is a must. This includes Office, SharePoint, Teams, Teams Rooms, FedEx and UPS shipping applications, among others.
    • Manage and maintain LAN/WAN/WLAN, Cisco switching, Wi-Fi, and SDWAN infrastructure.
    • Ensure security compliance and patching on all endpoints.
    • Administer active directory objects, including users, groups, mailboxes.
    • Collaborate with office staff, operations, and engineering teams on IT projects to research, enhance, and deploy new technologies, focusing on improvement and automation.
    • Proactively monitor and respond to Service-Now Service Desk level 2 and 3 tickets, ensuring timely resolution or escalation while maintaining clear communication with users.
    • Acquire and maintain working knowledge of a wide range of business applications, processes, and systems. JDE, Ignition, SolidWorks/Teamcenter, knowledge is a plus.
    • Serve as a liaison between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams for any issues that arise, as well as any process change requests.
    • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • A BS degree or Associates Degree with equivalent work experience. Preferably 3-5 years working in a manufacturing environment handling all aspects of IT hardwar
