We are seeking Principal Consultant to join our team! .
The Principal Consultant is a senior, client-facing leader who delivers engagements end-to-end, steers workstreams, and contributes to organizational growth.
This role blends strategic advisory work with hands-on execution.
You’ll advise CEOs and boards, design pragmatic solutions, and ensure delivery excellence.
You should be equally comfortable conducting discovery interviews, building a board-ready presentation, leading a client workshop, or shaping a proposal. You will report to the Managing Principal and collaborate closely with project managers, other consultants, business development, and other colleagues at the firm.
Client Consulting & Delivery (Primary)
- Lead strategic advisory engagements (e.g., strategic plans, operating model redesigns, growth/market entry strategies, partnership/M&A readiness, integration planning, board governance).
- Develop executive-grade deliverables (board memos, “strategy on a page,” diligence briefs, integration charters, KPI dashboards).
- Provide subject-matter expertise on Medicaid and managed care, payer strategy, and state/regulatory issues relevant to providers.
Project Management (as needed)
- Own project workplans, risks, and timelines; coordinate across internal and client teams.
- When managing projects, the principal consultant is accountable for the delivery of the project and ensuring that all decisions, meeting notes, and follow-ups are documented and closed.
- Maintain scope discipline and ensure deliverables meet CFHS quality standards.
- Manage projects to stay within the committed budget and timeline
Business Development
- Build and maintain executive relationships; identify client needs and contribute to statements of work.
- Support proposal development, estimating of level of effort, and finalist presentations.
- Contribute to CFHS visibility by partnering with Marketing on panels, webinars, bylines, and LinkedIn content.
Research & Insights
- Partner with the head of market intelligence to design and conduct primary/secondary research (stakeholder interviews, market scans, payer/environmental assessments, benchmarking).
- Synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations with measurable impact.
Internal Contributions
- Model (and mentor other team members) CFHS’ core values with colleagues and clients, including CFHS’ commitments to provide the highest quality services to our clients.
- Contribute to the development of CFHS’ products and services. This includes new consulting offerings and the development of reuseable content and tools (playbooks, templates, dashboards, workshop agendas, checklists).
- Uphold client data integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Can work Full Time; 37.5 Flexible Remote Hours and Travel as Needed
