The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Facility Maintenance Technician role will make an impact:
- Supervise and control the facility equipment and building maintenance systems according to the relevant SOPs.
- Regularly checks and conducts the testing of the security and building systems.
- Supports the authorities’ and the disaster recovery office’s activity if required.
- Collects data from the building management system and documents consumption data (such as gas, electricity etc.)
- Carries out maintenance tasks according to the plan, occasionally through facility vendors. Contact keeping with vendor representatives. Supervision of external vendors’ activity.
- Repairs sudden failures or ensures a safe temporary solution is arranged until full repair. Occasionally works with external vendors, contact keeping with their representatives. Supervision of external vendors’ activity.
- Documents activity that has been carried out according to the rules.
- Informing the Engineering Manager about the works performed; reports any deviations or issues found. Makes proposal for corrective actions and carries out directions.
- Complies with GMP, EHS and environmental rules and directives. Participates in related training.
- Comply with safety rules: wearing and use of protective equipment and clothing; comply with fire-protection and safety rules at workplace; follow traffic routes; follow EHS rules; participate at training
- Follows up on spare parts stock, proposes purchase if required.
- Performs other facility-related activities or other tasks according to line manager’s direction.
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- General mechanical and electrical knowledge. Knowledge of equipment and machines operation and maintenance. Experience in trouble shooting and repairing, knowledge of tools. Maintenance and problem-solving processes knowledge. Understanding relevant standard operating procedures, knowledge of GMP
- Understand safety, fire and environmental protection and security directives.
- Fast comprehension, problem solving skills. Manual dexterity. Cooperation with others, compliance with directions and rules. Organisation skills, ability to coordinate activities with others. Able to work independently.
- Jobholder reports to the Engineering Manager.
- Secondary school education in a technical field, preferably as electrician or mechanical technician. Ability to read and understand technical and electrical drawings, to use gages, understanding measuring results. Qualification for handling gas or oil heated boilers. Fire protection qualification.
- Knowledge of fire alarm, BMS systems, diesel operated fire extinguisher, HVAC and pneumatic systems. User level knowledge of computer (MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, Internet, MS Word and Excel).
- Knowledge of local language (Hungarian) with effective written and oral communication. Ability to read and interpret technical documents. Ability to understand technical data and write technical reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require some judgment. Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve the problems.
