Job Description:

As the Esports Features Editor, you’ll commission, edit, and shape high-quality longform content across the competitive gaming ecosystem – including game breakdowns, industry deep-dives, team/org profiles, tournament explainers, and monetization trends.

You’ll work closely with writers to ensure all published content is accurate, accessible, and SEO-driven, with a strong editorial voice. You'll research trending topics, identify content gaps, and use data insights to improve performance and audience engagement.

We want someone with a strong grasp of the esports landscape, exceptional editorial standards, and a passion for telling compelling stories that inform and resonate with both casual fans and industry insiders.

Core Tasks:

• Commission, brief, and edit a high volume of esports-focused features, explainers, and educational content.

• Support content success through ad hoc writing, updates, and rewrites where needed.

• Identify editorial opportunities based on SEO data, industry trends, and audience interest.

• Recruit and manage a network of freelance writers and subject matter experts across the esports space.

• Ensure all content is accurate, engaging, well-researched, and aligned with our editorial and SEO standards.

• Stay on top of esports industry news, game updates, tournaments, org activity, and monetization trends.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be based in a European time zone (GMT - GMT +4).

• Proven experience commissioning and editing content within esports, gaming, or adjacent digital media.

• Strong understanding of the competitive gaming landscape, including major titles, teams, tournaments, and monetization models.

• Excellent editorial judgment with a knack for shaping features that are insightful, engaging, and strategically aligned.

• Solid grasp of SEO best practices and how they apply to longform editorial content.

• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple writers, deadlines, and content pipelines.

• Skilled at delivering clear, constructive feedback that helps writers improve.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, digital publishing environment.
  

Nice to have Requirements:

• Experience with esports betting or the intersection of gambling and competitive gaming.

• A network of freelance writers or subject matter experts in gaming or esports.

• Confidence in using analytics tools (e.g., GA4, GSC) to inform editorial decisions.
