Senior Scientist, Biophysical and Biochemical Assay Development (Biacore or Carterra expereince)
Responsibilities:
- Independently design, execute and troubleshoot HT-SPR based assay to evaluate binding kinetics, affinity, specificity, and epitope binning of biotherapeutic candidates.
- Develop and execute biochemical assays including AlphaLISA, TR-FRET and FP.
- Develop and integrate new technologies and/or workflows into existing one to facilitate rapid and high-throughput characterization of biotherapeutic candidates.
- Critically analyze and interpret data and present the results to other scientific teams and stakeholders to support lead candidate selection across multiple projects.
- Maintenance of instrumentation and provide training to newer scientists and research associates.
- Tracking and compiling results in an electronic notebook.
Experience:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field with 3-4 years of relevant research and/or pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge and hands on experience in high throughout characterization of protein-based ligands using SPR and BLI.
- Proven record of developing and executing binding kinetic, competition and epitope binning analysis.
- Experience in developing and executing biochemical assays such as AlphaLISA, TR-FRET, ELISA and FP.
- Able to operate, maintain and troubleshoot Biacore and Carterra LSA.
- Pro-active mentality and ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative environment to meet project goals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with liquid handling robotics and laboratory automation is a plus.
- Experience in protein expression and purification is a plus.
