We are looking for a Sr. Complex Claims Analyst – Private D&O and EPL.  The position will be based in our Chicago or Alpharetta office.  This opportunity can also be remote based if the right candidate does not reside within a reasonable distance of one of the offices.

The Impact You Will Have

Sr. Complex Claims Analyst will proactively investigate, evaluate, reserve and negotiate resolution of assigned primary and excess Private D&O and EPL claims, in accordance with established best practices and within granted autonomy limits. In addition, the Sr Complex Claims Analyst will develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers as well as internal business partners. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:                                         

  • Investigation and Reserving of Claims - Investigate claims that involve complex liability issues on primary and excess Private D&O and EPL claims.  The candidate may be called upon to handle Public D&O claims as well.
  • Analyzing and addressing coverage issues; Determining appropriate reserving levels; and selecting and directing independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Experts, etc.).
  • Settlement - Negotiating and resolving complex D&O and EPL claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions.
  • Ensuring claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.
  • Referrals and Compliance - Ensuring all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines.
  • Referring cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate; and
  • Supporting the establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients and brokers.
  • Market Management - Proactively supporting acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
  • Proactively liaising with underwriters on market management initiatives and attending industry functions.
  • Relationship Management - Positively representing AGCS externally to the market and developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders.
  • Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations.
  • Effectively reporting and presenting complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally.
  • Claims Processing & Administration - Inputting and maintaining accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGCS Claims administration systems.
  • Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in proven track record in handling D&O and EPL claims.                                                                                       
  • Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.                                                
  • Have an expert understanding of Liability products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and application in the adjustment process.
  • In-depth understanding of regional / local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape
  • Detailed understanding of legal and regulatory framework                                                                   
  • Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization.                                                                
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $98,318 to $167,091. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate.
