In-Home Caregiver – Experience Supporting Mental Health or Social Work Clients Preferred

Are you a compassionate, reliable caregiver who finds fulfillment in helping individuals live independently and with dignity? Broad Street Home Care is seeking non-medical caregivers who have experience supporting clients with mental health diagnoses.

We believe great care goes beyond physical support — it means understanding and respecting emotional and behavioral health needs, too. As an in-home caregiver with Broad Street, you’ll provide daily living support, companionship, and practical assistance to clients — many of whom may have mental health conditions, cognitive challenges, or require support from a social worker.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

• Provide companionship, emotional support, and help create a calming, safe home environment.

• Support light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and transportation as needed.

• Observe and report changes in behavior or condition to care managers or supervising staff.

• Collaborate and communicate respectfully with mental health professionals, social workers, and family members.

• Uphold client dignity and autonomy with patience, empathy, and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or similar role (experience supporting clients with mental health or social service needs is strongly preferred).

• A deep sense of compassion, reliability, and respect for diverse backgrounds and abilities.

• Ability to follow care plans and respond to emotional or behavioral needs calmly and confidently.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must pass background check and have reliable transportation.
