We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer with suitable experience to work full-time in Dahlgren, VA. The program is focused on the integration of specialized information technology and engineering support services capable of system engineering support and software development. This position will be on-site and will require active Top Secret Clearance. 

 

Senior Test Engineer Primary Duties:

• Testing software and automating test solutions.
• Developing test programs and procedures including development of test plans, test scenarios and documenting test results to validate functional requirements and to ensure systems performance.
• Conducting formal and informal quality reviews throughout the software development life cycle.
• Utilizing Software Quality Assurance (SQA), Software Configuration Management (SCM), and automated testing tools.

Qualifications

Senior Test Engineer Education and Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, business, or technical discipline and five (5) years’ experience in testing software and automating test solutions.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Nine (9) years’ professional experience in testing software and automating test solutions.
• Five (5) years’ experience developing test programs and procedures including development of test plans, test scenarios and documenting test results to validate functional requirements and to ensure systems performance.
• Five (5) years’ experience in conducting formal and informal quality reviews throughout the software development life cycle.
• Five (5) years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA), Software Configuration Management (SCM), and automated testing tools.

• Active Top-Secret Clearance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand, and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to workstation. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and the public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
