Collins Aerospace advanced technology groups focus on cutting edge department of defense research and development projects. As an advanced technology engineering intern, you will continually advance the state of the art through the research and creation of innovative system concepts and technological capabilities. 

Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Advanced Technology & Concepts (ATC) group focus on cutting edge department of defense research and development projects. As an ATC engineering intern, you will continually advance the state of the art through the research and creation of innovative system concepts and technological capabilities. 

This role consists of working with a group of highly innovative engineers towards the invention, development, and demonstration of new concepts and capabilities.  This position entails the pursuit and development of cutting-edge Modeling and Simulation, Communication, and AI solutions that can quickly go from concept to field demonstration, to fielded product. The applicant must be creative, highly self-motivated, have strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Supporting the development of applied research prototypes with innovative strategies
  • Supporting the development of new advanced concepts, targeting research organizations such as DARPA, DIU, ONR, CERDEC, AFRL, ARL, etc.
  • Supporting our team in the development and execution of external technology (R&D) programs as well as Mission Systems Advanced Technology internal research and development (IR&D) projects

What You Will Learn: 

  • Applied research experience utilizing AI and radio network technologies
  • Hands on software development experience in small team project settings

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence related science degree.
  • Development experience using Python or Matlab and AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Signal processing, Radio, or information theory courses
  • Modeling and simulation courses
