Aligned Orthopedic Partners is recruiting for an experienced Medical Records Clerk/Administrative Assistant.
What you will do:
Administrative Assistant 30%
- Sort Incoming Mail
- Send Outgoing Mail from IT or Finance
- Dropping off outgoing computer equipment to FedEx for remote users.
- Order Office Supplies
- Including custom items; business cards, letter head, folders, envelopes, stamps, name tags, bags, script pads etc.
- Keeping supply cabinet & lunchroom supplies stocked and organized.
- Surgical Posting snacks for the Physicians.
- Reconcile Receipts for Supply Ordering for Finance.
- Scanning Documents for various departments.
Medical Records Clerk 70%
- Perform routine clerical duties such as data entry, filing, compiling and/or posting records, and photocopying as needed in the department. (Scanning, indexing, processing incoming faxes and assisting with referral tracking)
- Track documentation for completion by patient/physician, verifies for accuracy and completeness once returned.
- Track and log all incidental or non-incidental breach involving PHI and route to leadership as appropriate
- Serve as the primary contact for release of information ensuring all policies and laws are followed prior to release of PHI
- Develop and maintain a system for tracking and logging all release of information requests from patients and third parties
- Prepare and create invoice for medical records in accordance to state law and post to the system
- Attend and participate in compliance activities as they relate to privacy, HIPAA and ePHI/PHI
- Prepare medical records ensuring minimum necessary rule is adhered to, released using appropriate and secure media (flash, disk, paper)
- Scan and Maintain patient electronic medical records. Process requests for copies of medical records. Responds promptly to urgent chart request.
- Answer and handle in-coming calls
- Serve as the SME for handling and release of medical records
- Ensure medical records are placed in the chart in standard and consistently thru out the organization
- Provide education in regard to the medical record to staff as needed
- Other duties as assigned
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 2+ years' experience in handling medical records in a licensed medical facility.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Education: High school diploma/GED required
