Nexi Digital Finland 
Nexi Digital Finland is a Software (SW) development hub for Nexi Group to drive the product development of digital instore payment products and services. ​

We are first Nexi development hub in Nordics and located in Espoo, Finland. In February 2023 we are a team of 141 professionals with ambitious goals for growth, ensuring that we can even better provide the merchants pioneering indoor payment solutions to succeed in their businesses. 

Job Description

You’ll be powering our Payment Terminal Platform team
You will be in a team which implements software for the physical payment terminals. These devices are the same ones which can seen all around us in shops, hotels, restaurants, everywhere. The existing codebase is a combination of different technologies, but you will be focusing the platform part which is largely Lua with different bindings to C or other languages. You will be working with implementing uniform interface on different hardware platforms for the platform neutral application code. The platform implementation consist of payment card processing, graphics, software updates and installing, data security and key handling.

Skills and ambition make you succeed
We expect you to have a strong passion for coding, which eases your learning of Lua. You should also be outspoken and active in sharing your views when improvements or changes are needed. You always optimize your code while keeping the highest possible security and quality in mind. Lastly, you understand the concept of product development where the maintenance of the software is only as smooth as the code you’ve written earlier.

Your qualifications include:

  • Outstanding coding skills. E.g. JavaScript or Python experience would be good basis to learn Lua.
  • Embedded development experience. Understanding how hardware limitations (e.g. RAM) impact the code.
  • Programming experience with different communication protocols (e.g. USB, Serial, TCP/IP).
  • Payment and EMV knowledge is appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Linux knowledge is beneficial as majority of the development tools run on Linux.
