Position Overview:

 

In this role you will lead the indirect sourcing team and sourcing analytics processes for SSB.  The spend under this leader will exceed $500 million.  We'll need you to focus on the strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and procurement processes.  You'll leverage the scale of SSB to drive increased value for money while ensuring the business, brand, and functional objectives are achieved.  Sourcing analytics will provide necessary spend and savings data while working to automate and improve sourcing processes.

What You'll Do:

 

• Establish and manage a robust, integrated procurement processes and associated organization structure and capabilities for category management of indirect spend.

• Manage strategic and operational sourcing for direct and indirect packaging materials and supplies.

• Develop and implement aggressive cost reduction targets leveraging SSB buying power. 

• Build and maintain category expertise in targeted indirect spend categories. 

• Integrate the indirect sourcing processes across SSB and interface with key functional areas to ensure business and functional objectives are being achieved through the indirect sourcing process.

• Work with the sourcing systems team to deploy tools and processes to support direct and indirect spend management, including Spend Analytics through opportunity identification, Procure to Pay, Sourcing to Contract value streams.

• Utilize the Seven Step strategic sourcing process to select and contract with suppliers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional core teams to develop and maintain three-year strategic plans.

• Establish and maintain strong vendor/supplier relationships. Conduct quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to measure performance against contractual standards and/or defined expectations

• Drive the standardization of indirect procurement processes across all sites including SSB Canada and Tuft & Needle.

• Develop, chart and communicate market trend analyses for major indirect categories as applicable.

• Provide training, growth and development to Indirect Sourcing team

• Performs other duties as assigned

 

What You'll Bring:

 

• Effective verbal and written communication skills – adept at leading teams, influencing others, and communicating

• Extremely strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong analytical skills and experience with cost/benefit analysis

• Demonstrated ability to successfully juggle competing priorities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

 

Experience/Education

 

• 15+ years related experience with demonstrated success and increasing scope/responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree (MBA a plus)
• Strong skill set / experience in strategic sourcing processes and category management
• Demonstrated history of successfully leading transformational initiatives
