Job Description
Overall Purpose and Objective of Position
This position leads maintenance supervisors, and plans and assists in the management of mechanics, and millwrights conducting maintenance and repairs of operating equipment for an export grain and/or oilseed facility.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Schedules predictive and preventative maintenance, which includes holding regular meetings with personnel to plan/isolate and repair equipment
- Plans and distributes daily work orders to LDC and third party.
- Gathers parts needed and checks spare parts inventory by utilizing CMMS / SAP system
- Maintains equipment information, repair files, and parts data for up-to-date accuracy
- Plans and supervises maintenance jobs and projects as directed to ensure a safe, timely and cost-effective outcome
- Collects and processes predictive/reliability data from plant equipment to schedule repairs by maintaining good communication with production personnel and Maintenance Superintendent
- Learns plant process and procedures for better understanding of how equipment is utilized
- Maintains good working knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, rules, and procedures pertinent to area of responsibility and ensures all applicable requirements are adhered to
- Ensures employees are provided required training for area, jobs, and tasks prior to assigning work
- Reports unsafe working conditions to management and communicates potential hazards to affected employees
- Performs job/cost analysis, safety/risk analysis, and preventative maintenance analysis.
- Ensures orderly shift change by communicating issues and/or ongoing tasks with operations staff,
Maintenance Superintendent, and maintenance staff - Collects, records, and analyzes production (including downtime) data to optimize efficiencies and product quality and assist and perform RCA and action to improve the reliability and Maintainability of the Assets.
- Conducts annual evaluations and reports
- Active and visible presence in the field. Performs daily inspections of jobs pertaining to safety, quality, and timeliness of executions.
- Assist on Planning, Control and follow up off Annual shut down.
- Assist on evaluate Technician’s performance and detect gaps between training and skill need it for the tasks.
- Help to coordinate shift covert during PTO of personal or holidays.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensures work area is kept clean and free from safety hazards
- Conduct’s “toolbox” maintenance and safety meetings as required including 07 Am meeting and 2 PM Meeting
- Accepts/carries out/completes other duties as assigned.
- Assist on the selection of new equipment for projects, and on startup of new equipment.
Qualifications
Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
Basic qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred qualifications:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in related fields, such as, engineering and/or agriculture.
Experience
Basic qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in Maintenance Management or Maintenance Planning or Supervisor.
- Two (2) years of experience in welding, cutting, gearbox repair, pump alignment, material handling systems, preventative maintenance with exposure and/or instrument and electrical work in an industrial processing facility or in a machine shop with exposure to PM programs
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
Basic qualifications:
- Knowledge of maintaining bulk conveying equipment and systems
- Knowledge of reliability techniques, preventive and predictive tasks, KPI, leading and lagging indicators.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and industrial processing machinery
- Knowledge of Hydraulic systems function and Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electrical control systems including PLC, VFD, soft start and HMI.
- Knowledge of manufacturing regulatory and safety requirements the facility operates under (e.g., OSHA, EP
