Job Description

The Sr. IT Business Analyst consults and partners with business and IT to implement business process changes for AECOM. Supports the System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for projects impacting various business units and functional areas within AECOM. Performs the full range of business analysis tasks including process mapping, requirements definition, solution validation, organizing user testing, and end user training. Responsible for understanding impact of projects and system changes on business processes and working with business resources to facilitate a smooth transition. Works with Project Manager to ensure high quality delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid schedules to include a combination of both in-office presence and virtual/telecommute to be based from either Dallas or Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and understands the issues and challenges of the organization and industry and how the project seeks to resolve these issues.
• Contribute to project work plans
• Partner with a Project Manager to facilitate requirements, process and functional design review sessions. 
• Document current state and develop and document future state business process deliverables.
• Document business requirements to support the desired technical solution, customer and development team/technology.  Demonstrate ability to negotiate requirements among multiple stakeholders.
• Analyze processes and identify areas for improvement along with possible solutions.
• Support the successful delivery of projects
• Contribute to design sessions to define the end state solution.     
• Identify gaps in requirements vs. solution and offer recommendations for resolving.  Facilitate resolution of gaps with either business or technical team as needed.
• Develop and document elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables.
• Independently or in collaboration with QA Team develop and execute test plans and test cases that complement business requirements and functional specifications. 
• Independently or in partnership with a training team develop and execute training plans and document training materials.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•    Strategic thinker with the ability to recognize, analyze, and recommend solutions to system, analytical and interpersonal problems throughout the SDLC
•    Strong planning, organizing, and coordinating skills
•    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals and facilitate meetings with business and technical participants
•    Strong time management skills
•    Ability to easily adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
•    Well-rounded technical experience with solid understanding of common technologies and solutions, both infrastructure and applications
•    Applications/software project experience, including requirements and testing for custom cloud-based and mobile application software development or configuration of off-the-shelf solutions
•    Business Analyst experience working on projects using Agile/Scrum, Strong Requirements and Testing experience including process mapping, requirements definition, testing documentation, IT testing, coordination of user testing, and training
• Acts as a mentor to less senior IT staff.
