Lockheed Martin is seeking a Data Analyst Intern. The intern would be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to develop immersive stories that answer business questions. Using proven and sound statistical methods, the intern will draw insights from data, and translates those insights into action that drive business results. The intern will apply mathematical and statistical methods to business and risk management problems. Other responsibilities include:

- Mine, process, and summarize data
- Manage the quality assurance of data scraping, query databases for stakeholder requests, and triage data issues for timely resolutions
- Analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences and prepare insights in narrative or visual forms, including dashboards
- Set up and maintain data processes and new analytics capabilities
- Produce and track key performance indicators
- Ability to formulate functional and technical requirements from business problems.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and solving business problems using data sets
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including identifying requirements and addressing their data needs
• Experience in Data Analytics development like Tableau, Power BI, BobJ, or querying languages like SQL or PL-SQL

Desired skills

• Analytical skills and understanding of system databases, data elements and application software solutions to optimize data gathering and analysis
• Ability to work in virtual teams
• Experience working in Agile environments, with knowledge of iterative development, sprint planning, and collaboration with other teams
• Familiarity with performance analysis of data warehouses and/or ETL processes
• Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong time management capabilities and ability to adapt to shifting priorities
