About the role

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Sr. Manager, Product Manager – Technical, will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing Kuiper satellite communication services. The successful candidate must have direct experience with satellite and/or wireless broadband services for residential (B2C) and enterprise, telecom, and transportation customers (B2B). Candidates must have deep expertise in define, build, and launch payment, billing, and invoice software products. Candidates must have 5+ years of people management experience.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will work directly with customers, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to define Kuiper service offerings via expertly crafted working backwards, business requirements documents which can easily be translated into product and engineering deliverables. You will also lead a team of PMTs to define, build, and launch payment, billing, and invoice products.

This role requires the ability to work in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and must be comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams. The candidate must have strong business judgment, dive deep into data, have strong writing skills and be comfortable leading executive-level reviews. Candidates must be able to analyze and implement subscription lifecycle models with appropriate KPIs for different customer segments.
The best candidates will have deep understanding of customer needs for modern telecommunication services. Candidates with demonstrated business and operational experience within high scale fixed, wireless and satellite telecommunications services targeting consumer and enterprise verticals will be preferred.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


A day in the life
- Define the products and service strategy for Kuiper services to meet requirements of different customer verticals
- Create detailed product requirements documents based on an intimate knowledge of the specific customer verticals including use case prioritization, feature definition and product roadmap
- Work with leadership team to set the customer strategy and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs between features and speed-to-launch
- Manage entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution and work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver on that vision, e.g. engineering, sales, finance, operations, international
- Responsible for launch plan and enablement, working to ensure that all teams have what they need to be successful
- Establish goals and reviewing metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success
- Research and identify new opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers
- Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints

Basic Qualifications


- 7+ years of team management experience
- 6+ years of experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- 6+ years of experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment
