Position Overview:

The Assistant Dean of Assessment and Program Quality will lead assessment and continuous quality improvement efforts to continue the school’s tradition of innovative teaching, learning, research, scholarship, and patient/client-centered care. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly collaborative, forward-thinking, enthusiastic leader to inspire a tightly knit community of faculty, staff, and students, and to help develop a culture of assessment. The Assistant Dean of Assessment and Program Quality will provide instrumental leadership to help guide the School of Pharmacy as it continues its commitment to excellence in education, developing creative and effective leaders dedicated to ethical conduct, interprofessional collaboration and service to others. The Assistant Dean will oversee the Assessment and Program Quality activities and initiatives across the School of Pharmacy’s programs: the PharmD Program, the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management, and the Master of Science in Population Health Sciences; and will report to the Dean of the School of Pharmacy. Faculty rank will be determined based on background, training, and experience.

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate must possess an earned doctorate (PharmD and/or Ph.D.) with training in Economic, Social, and Administrative Sciences in Pharmacy or a related field, and experience in curricular and programmatic assessment in health professional education. The successful candidate will have prior administrative experience in an academic setting, a demonstrated capacity for leadership, possess a strong record of teaching, service, and scholarly achievement, and a demonstrated ability to support school educational, service, and research initiatives.

Administrative (25%)

• Provides coordinated leadership and oversight for achieving strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives related to assessment and program quality that promotes academic excellence and curricular innovation for the School’s PharmD and Graduate programs.
• Supports and participates in accreditation activities as required and in cooperation with Program Directors, other Associate/Assistant Deans, and the Dean of the School of Pharmacy.
• Assists in developing appropriate assessment activities/reports and conducts regular assessments (or aggregation of related ongoing assessments) of curriculum effectiveness, alignment with KGI-institutional learning outcomes, and program quality metrics, to inform data-driven improvements to the School’s didactic and experiential curricula.
• Works with the Assistant Director of Student Success, the Program Directors, and the Dean of the School of Pharmacy to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analytics to monitor, assess, and improve the effectiveness of the SoP programs.
