Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of specific projects supporting strategic initiatives for education, business, research and community practice.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defines project scope, charter, goals, deliverables and timelines for the Clinical Research Support Core (CRSC) of the Undiagnosed Diseases Network’s (UDN) Data Management Coordinating Center under the direction of the respective manager/director of the Program's management team.
  • Assembles and coordinates project staff.
  • Coordinates all aspects of annual subaward submission process as a standing, high-priority project. Composes annual solicitation of Subaward proposals. Helps organize and  coordinate the Subaward review, scoring, acceptance, notification, funding, and milestone reporting processes for all funded applications.
  • Assures adherence to grant, IRB and Washington University guidelines for the Subawards applications, review, and funding  and other projects within the CRSC
  • Maintains database content supporting sCRSC and subaward  process. Provides direction and support to UDN site PI’s inquiries.
  • Attend meetings for the Undiagnosed Disease Network (UDN), representing the CSRC with close communication with the Program Director. Advises CRSC Director on operational concerns and serves as the communications liaison among the various CRSC projects
  • Achieves department/division/program objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing accountability, quality and customer service standards; resolving problems; determining system improvements; implementing change. Provides projections/recommendations for future resource allocations for the Subaward proposals.
  • Consistently monitors and reports on progress of projects to leader, staff and stakeholders. Establishes/enhances contacts with other DMCC centers and UDN Clinical Sites to facilitate collaboration and exchange of information and horizontal integration between the WashU-based CRSC and DMCC. Maintains contact with the Program Officer at the NIH/NINDS and DMCC Director to ensure that the CRSC is adhering to policies and achieving the mission of the UDN and DMCC.
  • Establishes contacts with investigators at other UDN institutions to facilitate utilization of CRSC resources.
  • Establishes and maintains contacts with community groups that support the funded CRSC Subaward proposals.
  • Assists the CRSC Director with the integration and communication among other relevant WashU grants, e.g., the WashU UDN Clinical Site.
  • Prepares and present reports defining status, progress, problems and solutions of project lifecycles. Prepares reports detailing evaluation and assessment of projects.
  • Obtaining the format for grant submission from the NIH and DMCC and following the guidelines for the required preparation of tables documenting use and progress.
  • Obtaining Progress Reports from each funded Subaward application, including milestone achievement and resulting publications.
  • Compiling and submitting reports/renewals in required NIH format. Works closely with grants management team in budget evaluation / monitoring.
  • Prepares and maintains minutes and action item accountabilities from standing committee, ad hoc and planning meeting activity related to projects supporting the Program's strategic plan, ensuring follow up on decisions made.
  • Provides planning and coordination of meetings and schedules presentations as required to support department/division/program initiatives, management team and administrative council. Facilitates meetings as assigned and educates team members about project management processes.
  • Participates in project review meetings; prepares reports and analyzes data to support project lifecycles and program evaluation. Supports/recommends process improvement ideas to teams.
  • Drafts CRSC updates for subaward process within RedCap database, working with RedCap developers and on UDN/DMCC website from materials provided by CRSC director. Composes informational content for updating UDN/DMCC website.
