Your day-to-day work will include:

The Internals Controls Specialist - Senior position will provide Information and Technology Analysis Services to RFF KCI team. Services include providing a reasonable assurance that IT system process weaknesses can be prevented or detected early enough to mitigate and prevent an adverse impact on the organization.

Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide Internal Controls expertise to assist in the assessment and/or establishment of an effective internal control environment in accordance with the GAO Green Book and OMB A-123.

• Develop Internal Control processes and tools to provide reasonable assurance of adequate internal control effectively and efficiently.

• Monitor the framework for validating and testing the effectiveness of internal controls.

• Develop, implement, and oversee evaluations and analyses of operations to assist in the prompt detection and correction of problems and the resolution of unsatisfactory conditions.

• Support the establishment and maintenance of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) processes and procedures.

• Support activities related to assessing and evaluating internal controls.

• Support the development of near and long-term strategies, plans, and schedules pertaining to the Annual Statement of Assurance (SOA).

• Provide consultation regarding the appropriate controls to test, along with test plan development and design of sampling techniques that allow for meaningful analysis.

• Gather and review relevant data and information from subordinate organizations to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Document key processes for performing internal control testing and analysis.

• Draft reports and create presentations detailing internal control test results and findings.

Experience Requirements:

• 8 years of experience (including internships) providing Internal Control related services.

• Experience with leading client meetings with relevant personnel to gain an understanding of business processes and identify gaps in the process.

• Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and other Department of Defense Instructions and Manuals applicable to the program in order to develop, review, and update new and existing business process controls.

• Experience in preparing and conducting internal controls testing for operational effectiveness.

Certification Requirements:

Waivable/Substitutable: CPA, CISA, CDFM, CGFM, CFE, CIA Preferred/ DoD FM preferred not required.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; 4 years of additional work can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
