About the role

We are seeking a Software Architect with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies to join our team. As a key member of our ERP software engineering team, your primary role will be to design and implement robust and scalable software solutions, especially in the area of cloud solutions design that will be contributing to the overall architectural strategy of our software products. Your duties will include both - designing new functionalities and components in an existing ecosystem of cloud applications and their integration with main on-premise monolithic ERP system as well as extracting some components from it and moving them to the cloud.

Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in designing and modeling software components and their interactions.
Ability to create functional flows, sequence diagrams, and knowledge of UML.
A proven track record of working with and designing systems in one of the leading object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native services.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
Knowledge of serverless computing and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Dein Profil

In order to successfully fill this demanding position, you will have several years of professional experience as a Software Architect including Cloud experience.
You also have the following skills and characteristics:

Software Architecture: Contribute to the architecture team by designing new components and functionalities in the existing system, as well as improving existing solutions and reducing technical debt.
Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to the software engineering department on matters of software architecture, with a primary focus on cloud solutions.
Cloud Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
Technology Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, and ensure that our architecture leverages the best practices and innovations in the field.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of cloud infrastructure and applications to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
Documentation: Create and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams, and guidelines to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Technical Leadership: Collaborate with software development teams to provide guidance on data-related technical matters and mentor junior developers.
Overall Software Architecture: Contribute to the broader software architecture strategy, ensuring that cloud solutions align with the overall architectural vision.

Experience:

About 10 years of experience in software engineering.
About 3 years of experience in a role as a Software Architect.

Education and Certification:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus

Languages:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Additional languages – especially German – are a plus.
