Who We Are

We are seeking Marine Electricians for fleet modernization in San Diego, CA area. The selected candidates will be supporting our Systems Integrations department working on active class submarines, surface ships, and shore-based communication facilities using various mechanical tools to install, upgrade and remove industrial equipment to assist with alterations and installations. Selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around or out of the country when not assigned to a local task. Per Diem available based on location when on travel, travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company.

What You Will Do

The selected candidate will be supporting our Systems Integrations department working on active class submarines, surface ships, and shore based communication facilities using various technical tools to install, upgrade, remove and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and connectors while assisting with alterations and installations for fleet modernization on various contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center. Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others. May provide direction and lead others. May manage one or more multiple jobs. Completes comprehension of specialty trades functions and tools. Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks. Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. May perform quality inspections on finished product. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

What You Must Have

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance and DBIDS base access.

  • Must have marine electrical maintenance experience on US Navy and/or other marine vessels.

  • Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.

  • Must be able to work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders as well as written and verbal instruction.

  • Must be capable of using various electrical/electronic measuring instruments.

  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Bonus Points For...

  • Prefer candidates with an Active Security Clearance.

  • Experience in large NIWC/SPAWAR integrated installation contracts is preferred.

  • Strongly prefer candidates with NAVSEA Fiber Optic and/or Multi-Pin Copper certifications.

  • Experience in Shore C4I is preferred. 

  • Prefer technical/professional certifications.

  • Prior Quality Assurance certifications are preferred.

  • Shipyard Competent Person (SCP) certification is preferred.

  • Prior AIT or active duty experience on current active class ships is preferred.
