Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Senior Manager of Total Rewards is responsible for developing and administering competitive compensation, incentive programs, deferred compensation, non-qualified deferred compensation, payroll, taxes, benefits, and wellness initiatives.  This position will plan, develop and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with the organization’s core values and establishes competitive practices to ensure a positive impact on the long and short-term performance of the organization. Assure, thorough audits, reports and interpersonal contact, company programs and processes are consistently administered in compliance with policies, professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws. Manage the Total Rewards Team by coaching members to meet the expectations of the organization through exceptional customer service.

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration and communication of Total Rewards programs including retirement, base pay, variable pay, incentives, benefits and other rewards based on corporate objectives
  • Partner with corporate leadership to leverage compensation programs to meet organizational objectives
  • Analyze current rewards programs to ensure alignment with the business strategy and designs rewards programs that optimize the ability to attract top talent
  • Oversee the design and administration of compensation programs including base pay, variable pay, merit, compensation planning, and market analysis with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement salary structure and guidelines in accordance with compensation policy
  • Manage the administration of all compensation activities including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions
  • Manage payroll administration process along with other off schedule payrolls, such as merit, incentives and bonuses
  • Recommend changes for efficiency and automation of processes related to Total Rewards
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing total compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revisions as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives
  • Advise executives and managers on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs
  • Recommend special compensation programs or incentive systems for all employees or for specific groups to support the organization's objectives
  • Oversee the company’s retirement programs including 401(k) and non-qualified deferral plans
  • Support projects such HR integration for mergers and acquisitions
  • Manage government compliance reports and confirm required filings are submitted in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective training, coaching, team building and succession planning
  •  Provides management and training of direct reports:  Payroll Manager, Compensation Analyst, Benefits Manager, Benefits Specialist, and Total Wellness Nurses

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

  • Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent work experience
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)
  • 10+years’ experience with 3+ years in compensation administration and/or compensation management and 3+ years in benefits administration and management
  • Strong technical, managerial and team building skills with the ability to balance tactical and strategic responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present effectively to all levels of the organization and maintain vendor relationships
  • Proven ability to build relationships and effectively influence peers and business managers within the organization
  • Ability to act with integrity in resolving issues and dealing with confidential matters
  • Excellent analytical and financial acumen
  • Well-defined computer skills including payroll systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, compensation and benefit related laws, processes, and best practices
  • PayScale, Benefits Admin (formerly Benefits Prime), and UKG knowledge highly pref
