Job Description Summary:

PayPal is seeking a talented leader to lead a Merchant personalization AI/ML team, driving the development of AI-driven solutions that will shape the future of PayPal. You will lead a team of ML Scientists and be responsible for managing a portfolio of ML solutions, including personalization, product recommendation and Merchant insights. You will be building and delivering AI driven insights that will help Merchants improve their business leveraging the power of PayPal’s two-sided network.

Job Description:

Your day to day:

• Lead the team in charge of Development of Recommender Systems leveraging cutting edge AI/ML techniques, such as graph neural networks and deep learning models.
• Define an end-to-end vision for domain, including Signal Collection, Consumer Embedding, Product and Merchant Embeddings and retrieval/ranking pipelines.
• Leverage GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Llamma to accelerate development of recommendation models.
• Act as a thought leader, staying on top of the latest advancements in Generative AI and integrating innovative technologies into our systems to maintain a competitive edge.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to quickly propose feasible solutions and effectively communicate strategy and risk mitigation approaches to leadership
• Communicate complex concepts and the results of models and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences. Influencing partners including product stakeholders.
• Work in close partnership with our engineering group and PayPal's Platforms organization and drive the adoption of ML/AI solutions throughout the organization.

This position is hybrid and requires in-office presence about 3 days a week in our San Jose, CA Headquarters.
 

What do you need to bring:

• Strong background in Machine Learning with practical experience in building and implementing large-scale predictive models and recommendation systems.
• Strengths in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Recommendation systems, Generative models, and Statistical Analyses.
• Preferred to have industry expertise in e-commerce recommendations, Ads relevance or other related applications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence partners and customers with your insights and expe
