Consumer Growth is an organization within Coinbase that focuses on growing our user base and driving more engagement. In your role, you will help people get onto Coinbase, discover crypto, and get the most out of their experience. Growth is responsible for many important surfaces in our product, including our logged-out homepage and SEO pages, signup flows, new user experience, referrals, upsells, notifications, incentives, and partnerships. This role will lead the UX research function for the Growth team, working in close partnership with the Design, Product, and Data teams to turn user insights into actionable ideas and impact.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Leading the UX Research function for our Consumer Growth org, from large foundational and generative projects to evaluative, tactical, and investigative quick wins
• Coordinate and conduct mixed-methods research, including interviews, usability testing, concept testing, surveys, and other methods as needed
• Craft research reports to clearly communicate your findings and make impactful design and product recommendations for the team
• Help stakeholders translate research insights (from you and from other researchers) into actionable ideas for experiments and A/B tests, campaigns, notifications, and upsells
• Synthesize qualitative research insights with data and analytics to increase Growth team metrics

What we look for in you:

• 7+ years of user research experience, preferably with some experience in a lead role or primary point of contact for a large product area with many stakeholders
• Experience supporting growth, monetization, ads/marketing, or other KPI-driven top-of-funnel teams
• Strong metrics focus, fluent in quantitative data and experimentation
• Confident team leadership and patient guidance to a range of stakeholder levels, including guiding designers and PMs through their own research
• Easily communicates complex concepts, with ability to influence strategy and decision making
• Can successfully manage project prioritization and multiple stakeholder relationships independently
• Experience with both moderated & unmoderated testing
• Collaborative attitude, team mentality, and humility 
• A learner’s mindset, seeing feedback as a chance to grow
• Interest in crypto or financial products

• Experience mentoring more junior researchers
