Responsibilities
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Radiology Director, and Radiologist. The Nuclear Supervisor is Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness for the supervision of Nuclear Imaging services. The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position. Commitment to the delivery of competent patient care supported by lines of communications and coordination with physicians, patients and co-workers. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
The Nuclear Supervisor will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required, or set forth. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible. Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Supervisor of Nuclear is a High School graduate
or equivalent with satisfactory completion of a formal Nuclear School of Medicine or equivalent. CPR Certification required. Must be a registered technologist within the Nuclear Medicine Field; also should have attained experience and possess capabilities as determined to be adequate by the Director and Medical Director of Radiology.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.
Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals and labels. Use eyes, hands and fingers with skill. Work fast in an emergency situation.
Effectively communicate with people when they are sick, handicapped, or nervous.
Follow instructions exactly. Record information accurately. Ability to care for patients of all ages.
