Department Overview: The Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for assessing, recommending, and driving business requirements and the delivery of key strategic capabilities, products, and initiatives across the AMCB Commercial Landscape. This analyst will work with external and TD stakeholders to create and implement the right requirements to meet enterprise, business, & technology needs for strategic growth and legal/regulatory requirements.
Current and Future State Experience and Process Mapping
- Create current and future state experience and process maps to drive full understanding of current state (including gaps) in order to create accurate and complete future state requirements
Requirements Definition
- Create boundaries around scope and accurately identify risk, issues, dependencies and any mitigants
- Create accurate, complete, traceable, and testable requirements in alignment of with industry standards
- Use knowledge of the bank, the banking industry, and technology to inform those requirements
- Work closely with all partners (business, operations, risk, compliance, legal, governance) to ensure fully defined requirements
Ongoing Implementation Support, for assigned efforts:
- Work with business, operations, technology, and vendors to clarify and ensure appropriate testing and technical application of requirements
- Support Coding, Testing, Deployment, and Post Deployment activities as needed
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Proven track record of defining and delivering requirements in a fast-paced and complex financial institution Strong Analytical Skills, to identify problems, analyze data, and create complete requirements Demonstrated effectiveness in diverse software delivery environments Highly effective communication skills, including presentations and excellent verbal and written communication to effectively build relationships, present requirements, gain consensus and alignment, drive resolutions, and deliver outcomes Technical knowledge of the systems and platforms supporting clients, internal support staff, and key stakeholders in the Commercial Bank In depth knowledge of tools and methodologies needed to deliver requirements (MS office tools, JIRA, Confluence, remote collaboration tools) Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Outcomes to help drive decisions in the requirements process Extensive experience working with external vendors and external software solution providers
Other Considerations
- Experience in large financial institution product and/or technology development
- Experience with Agile software delivery an asset
- Remote working arrangement is an option. Occasional travel may be required
The Business Analyst III provides analytical and project management support to various corporate and business line strategic initiatives according to established Company procedures and applicable legal and regulatory guidelines.
Depth & Scope:
- Works independently but receives assistance/coaching from more senior levels
- Coaches other team members, as appropriate, within area of expertise
- Identifies, develops, and maintains key linkages with business partners including the retail product management, retail distribution, commercial banking, support services and North American business partners such as TD Wealth Management, TD Ameritrade and TD Insurance
- Helps senior management by giving insightful and pro-active reporting and analysis and various corporate and business line initiatives
- Works with line of business team members/ resource
- Resolves issues and problems by conferring with staff, management, other internal departments, outside contacts as necessary
- Works cross-functionally as required to drive strategic initiatives and improve processes
