We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our team and support our federal customer.

*This position is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in all cyber security initiatives and help in providing new guidance. Use your expertise to analyze and ensure the security posture of system hosted on premises environment, with potential eventual migration to cloud environments.
  • Provide Information Assurance (IA) support and expertise to Program Manager and team ensuring they maintain an appropriate operational cybersecurity posture.
  • Assess the cybersecurity impacts of system modifications and technological advances.
  • Review systems to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes, and document upgrades.
  • Ensure appropriate security controls and measures are in place to safeguard systems, applications, and data.
  • Ensure compliance with data security policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with Federal Government directives and applicable Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for Risk Management Framework Assessment and Authorization (A&A) in accordance with Federal Government policies and procedures.
  • Draft, upload and maintain documentation into the Government provided IA tool on a regular basis to demonstrate compliance with cybersecurity policies and processes to include, but not limited to test results, POAMs, policy documents, SOPs/TTPs, application boundary diagrams, required A&A forms, other evidential documents as needed. Assist in preparing "Authorization to Operate" (ATO) package as required.
  • Ensure appropriate changes and improvement actions are implemented as required.
  • Ensure compliance with protection requirements, control procedures, incident management reporting, remote access requirements, and system management for all system environments under scope.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum two years' experience as an Information Systems Security Officer or Risk Management Framework Manager
  • 3+ years of experience applying the NIST Risk Management Framework to ensure the security of information systems.
  • Experience with Federal Government Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidance and implementation of the best practices.
  • Experience creating or updating agency and/or system policies and procedures for compliance with DHS and Federal regulations.

Job Skills:

  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, Project 2016, Teams and Visio.
  • Able to work as part of a team and/or individually with little or no supervision.
  • Familiar with FISMA, NIST 800-53, CNSS 1253, FedRAMP, and DHS directives.
  • Working knowledge of DHS Information Assurance tool is desired.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems related field required.
  • Degree concentration in Cyber Security is a plus.
