About the role

Team:  Childrens Services Commissioning 

Job Family: Enabling - CBG9 

Salary:  £34,811 - £37,562 per annum pro rata

Hours:  37 hours per week 

Location:  Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month, and this role will involve some travel to carry out the role.

Contract Type:  Hybrid – Fixed Term Contact/Secondment Opportunity up to 12months Maternity Cover

Our Childrens Services Commissioning team is looking to recruit a Commissioning Support Officer to predominantly support the strategic commissioning function, although flexibility to work across the contracts and compliance team is required.   

 

The primary purpose of the role is to support the commissioning of services across education, and social care to ensure that we deliver services that meet needs and are value for money. You would be supporting the strategic commissioners to deliver a range of commissioning projects which currently include supported accommodation, domestic abuse and alternative education. You will provide administrative support, assist in preparation of data for needs analysis and contribute towards the development of commissioning workplans and strategies.

 

You will be highly skilled communicator and be confident working with internal and external stakeholders including providers and parents/cares. The role involves overseeing projects which will require excellent organisational skills and sound record keeping.  The ability to collate and interpret data on need and impact and use this to develop services is key. Good written are required as report writing, and presentations will be required. This role provides a development opportunity for those keen to gain experience of working across partners.

 

This role does involve some travel across the region and therefore use of a car is essential.

 

About the Childrens Commissioning Team  

Childrens Services Commissioning work with operational teams, our community and providers to secure the best possible health, education and care services to meet the needs of service users.  

 

 Duties of the team include 

  • Reviewing services in light of needs of community to inform service design 

  • Developing the market through regular engagement and communication 

  • Commissioning services 

  • Monitoring contracts and ensuring quality 

  • Maintaining relationships with providers
