About This Role
The Associate Director HEOR/Access Value Lead role is a part of the HEOR/Access Leadership Team in US Medical, a strategic partner within Biogen. This role will help lead the development of medical payor value proposition strategy and will be accountable for the generation of high-quality content, both internal and customer-facing, including the Medical Review and Promotional Review approval process. The individual in this role will work closely with cross functional partners in HEOR/Access, the Medical Account Directors (MADs) and with other functional areas within Biogen such as Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R), Value & Access, and TA and HEOR Medical Directors to develop the value propositions and content. What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of MAD resources for use with customers, including disease state education, economic models, and prevalence tools to inform and educate customers.
- As a member of the US HEOR Access Leadership Team, include responsibilities departmental level strategy development, departmental level initiatives, extended member of the MA&R home office LT’s.
- Provide expertise in both value evidence and content development to ensure our comprehension of the information/evidence needs of U.S. Payor/Managed care decision makers can be translated into resources appropriate for these audiences.
- Engage with cross-functional partners (Legal/Compliance, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial) from the US Medical perspective to ensure content is medically sound, compliant, adequately referenced and aligned with medical strategy.
- Be a credible/medical scientific expert who is accountable as the primary HEOR representative and process driver that reviews and coordinates submissions for both the Commercial Promotional (PRC) and Scientific (non-promotional) Material Review (DSMR) teams to ensure consistency of therapeutic area content and communication per established standards.
- Operationalize the USM Insight evaluation process (i360) together with the MADs to advance actionable insights and learnings to advance value proposition strategies for Biogen assets for engagement with both internal and external customers.
- Possess a keen understanding of the U.S. Healthcare System, its processes, federal and state regulations, payment policies and procedures.

You are well versed in technology, whether it is content creation software (e.g. MS PowerPoint) or understanding an app from a healthcare partner. You embrace collaboration and understand that you will be a part of a team where cross-functional relationships and coordination are key to solving critical scientific and business challenges.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP or comparable advanced degree
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in health economics, health services research, value or scientific communications, and/or related medical disciplines.
- Ability to effectively operate in a highly matrixed organization, including excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects utilizing a variety of disciplines (e.g., contracting, budgeting, vendor management)
- Demonstrated expertise/proficiency in content/presentation creation and adaptation
- Strong working knowledge of US regulations as relevant to Medical Affairs
Preferred Skills
- Master’s Degree in Epidemiology, public health, health economics or pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. managed market and the biopharma industry including R&D, clinical, market access and commercial
- Demonstrated ability to translate and communicate health economic analyses, patient-reported outcomes, retrospective and prospective observational studies and their application to evaluate and deliver the value of medicines
- Project Management experience
- Business acumen, Finance, technological experience.
