Solutions Architect

Solstice Consulting, LLC dba Kin + Carta (Chicago, IL) seeks Solutions Architect as follows:                                                                   

Job Duties: 

Partner with Fortune 500 clients in order to build enterprise grade cloud native applications by analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Bridge the gap between elegant front end design and existing enterprise backend architectures. Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Apply technical vision and experience with software design patterns to create elegant, scalable, and resilient solution architectures. Navigate complex data footprints, introducing modern data management and integration technologies to improve information velocity and data quality. Provide the technical voice for the team, advocating technical direction, and encouraging innovation among client stakeholders.  This position manages and supervises six (6) Technical Analysts responsible for implementing software design, fixing production issues, and supporting the deployment and release cycles using CI/CD deployments. 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, and five (5) years of work experience as a backend engineer and API developer, including experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise level product.
  Or, alternatively, Master’s Degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, and three (3) years of work experience as a backend engineer and API developer, including experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise level product.
• Three (3) years of experience working with Java / J2EE technologies including Spring framework, REST framework for API development and Hibernate using SQL based database Oracle.
• Three (3) years of experience working with Enterprise level Architects to design and develop POC for various technical problems and then leading a team of software engineers to implement backend solutions and REST based API for various software requirements and doing code reviews.
• Two (2) years of experience working with Big data technologies like Apache Spark, Elastic Search and Apache NIFI using Hortonworks Platform and NoSQL database MongoDB.

Worksite & Travel:  Telecommuting permitted. Travel is required to unanticipated locations in the U.S.
