Front-End Web Designer / Developer

We seek a driven, detail-oriented front-end web designer/developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will utilize design skills and a mix of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to code website pages, landing pages, and email templates. You will report to and work closely with our Senior Design & UX Manager and Marketing and Digital Banking team members to play a key role in successfully launching websites, emails, and applications that enhance our member experience and successfully communicate our brand.

This position will require a minimum of 3 days per week on-site at our Chelmsford, MA office and other days will be flexible to work off-site. #LI-Hybrid

• Maintain website pages and email templates and implement any necessary additions or enhancements
• Ensure that all design elements, templates, and finished solutions work within a variety of browser types and screen settings, along with the constraints set by development and design (responsive web design)
• Develop HTML/CSS/JavaScript code to build new CMS templates, as well as to enhance existing CMS templates
• Write code to implement visual elements into various web applications.
• Create prototypes, mockups, and staging sites for review and feedback
• Optimize websites and applications to ensure fast loading speeds
• Identify and troubleshoot various website issues and coding problems
• Collaborate with members of the website team, including designers and back-end developers, to consistently improve the functionality and user-friendliness of web applications
• Analyze our target market and audience to discover ideas for designing their website. Assess new standards, technologies, and trends, and formulate strategies and plans for future enhancement of websites
• Maintain and develop a high level of technical expertise including, but not limited to, new coding techniques, front-end development practices, and knowledge of the development industry and any advancements in technology
• Meet tight deadlines as required

Requirements

• Proven experience in a front-end web design and development role
• Up-to-date portfolio demonstrating mastery, creativity, and diversity
• Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and various content management systems; Understanding of server-side CSS, knowledge of Bootstrap a plus
• Must have knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD/Figma/Sketch
• Familiarity with HubSpot CMA and Email; ability to learn new content platforms quickly and efficiently a plus
• Strong ability in responsive and adaptive web design, proper front-end development practices, and an understanding of key design principles; ADA/Accessibility experience a plus
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with designers, developers, and other relevant staff members or clients
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions and requirements; Willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
• Understanding of SEO principles.

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
