POSITION SPECIFICS

Title: Distribution Assistant

FTE:  Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm

Holiday Rotation:  None

Weekend Rotation: None

On Call Requirements: None

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for a variety of clerical, technical and physical duties involving the correct handling and tracking of supplies and materials using our materials management computer system to   validate receiving processes, restock shelves, pull orders from inventory, deliver products to departments.  Also involved with physical inventory control and assistance with some purchasing processes as needed. 

POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive shipments of supplies, check quantity, pricing, and add to inventory.
• Check supplies and fill requests for all departments; issue and account for supplies.
• Assist in the purchasing function.  Place orders and/or find substitute supplies in supervisor’s absence.
• May assist supervisor in coding and matching invoices to ensure accurate payment of invoices.
• Take physical inventory of all supplies.
• Send out packages daily or as needed via UPS, Federal Express, etc.
• Unload freight.  Load and unload flatbed carts.
• Clean and reorganize shelves, carts and storage rooms as appropriate.
• Maintain computerized perpetual inventory and ordering and receiving records.  Be able to review reports for reasonableness.
• Provide user assistance in operation of inventory system.
