Position Purpose: As a Registered Nurse in Pre-Admission Testing, you will work closely with our expert medical team to ensure patients are physically prepared to undergo surgery safely. Your role will include conducting thorough assessments telephonically and in-person, coordinating necessary testing, and providing vital education to patients about their procedure, anesthesia options, and post-surgical care.

Hours/Shift: Full Time/Days M-F 8:00a - 4:30p (No nights, No weekends, No holidays!)

Key Responsibilities: Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients admitted for surgical or diagnostic procedures at the facility. This includes gathering history information, performing assessments, reconciling medication. Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures, functions as primary liaison between clinic patients, staff, and providers. May escort patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care. Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due Schedules/confirms appointments. Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider. Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations. Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens. Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests. May perform venipuncture. Participates in division meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of Nursing Program (Associates or Diploma Program)
  • Licensure: Arizona RN License or compact state 
  • Certification: BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Work Requirements: Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, possible exposure to chemical, biological, and radioactive substances. Ability to distinguish appropriate colors, work above and below shoulder level, lift to 50 lbs, walking/being on feet 90% of day/sitting 10%, with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and standing. Ability to use standard office equipment and communicate using telephone.
