Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Varsity Sports, conduct on-site preparation and supervision for Varsity Sport Programs both on campus and at satellite venues. The incumbent must be available Thursday through Sunday - shift work to be scheduled.
Primary Responsibilities:
1) Guide and support the AMUSE sports officials staff through preparation for the varsity event. Ensure that all staff are ready for game/event start time.
2) Supervise 5-7 AMUSE sports official staff before, during and after varsity sports competitions. Must be onsite to ensure the success of the sports official’s tasks.
3) Ensure that the sport officials submit all mandatory league requirements at the end of the events. This includes, but is not limited to, internal sports information as well as league portals such as the RSEQ S1, Presto, and Spordle and VidSwap.
4) Report to Varsity Manager at the end of each event that game protocol guidelines have been met.
5 ) Game document preparation (game sheets, sign in sheets, rosters
AMUSE sport officials staff shift scheduling).
6) Assist with Practice/Game Schedule verification.
7) Trouble shoot issues, resolve on site concerns (such as force of nature issues, staff shortage, game official delays).
8) Process timesheets in Workday.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Experience working varsity games an asset. Experience supervising staff.
May require certification beyond CPR and First Aid of the sport
Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing
