Job Description:
The Department of Public Safety at Iowa State University is seeking to hire a Customer Relations Coordinator II position. This position will be responsible for providing assistance to customers at the front counter, over the phone and email.
Duties may include:
- Determine the permit type to be purchased by vendors, staff, faculty, students, and visitors.
- Process citation payments.
- Answer phone calls, answer questions and direct calls.
- Help with customer questions regarding accounts, vehicle changes, parking issues, permits, citations, and special event parking.
- Assist with online forms and data entry.
The duties of this position will require the ability to work with various groups of people including angry and disgruntled customers, good communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to problem solve and multi-task.
Example of Duties
• Provides product information, recommendations, and suggestions to meet customer needs.
• Explains policies, procedures, and offerings to customers.
• Fulfills customer requests, invoices, billing, orders, etc.
• Resolves customer issues.
• Coordinates special projects.
• Maintains and builds customer relationships.
• Assists with marketing, promotions, and sales.

• Works under direct to general supervision and may receive guidance on more complex assignments
• Follows established procedures for work assignments, and completes assignments which are semi-routine and may be atypical in nature

• Able to resolve most problems and issues and respond to requests without escalation
• Provides guidance to students
• May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
