Job Overview & Responsibilities
The Vice President, Cyber Strategy is a hands-on builder and catalyst who will transform Emergent’s trusted VAR business into a recurring-revenue cyber services engine. This role is designed for an operator who can execute fast, build offerings, and drive sales enablement across the organization — translating existing OEM trust (Zscaler, BeyondTrust, RedHat, etc.) into advisory-led, assessment-driven, and managed cyber revenue. Position PurposeThis leader works shoulder-to-shoulder with Sales, OEM partners, Alliance Manager, and Marketing to productize services, launch assessment playbooks, and activate VAR pull-through motions that accelerate recurring cyber security revenue and increase enterprise valuation.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
GTM Execution & Revenue Growth· Build, launch, and own the Cyber Assessment Portfolio (Data Security, Identity Risk, Compliance Lite Assessments) within 60 days.· Partner with VAR sellers to embed cyber hooks into every license and renewal motion.· Convert OEM resale opportunities into advisory or managed cyber engagements.· Create packaged service offerings with pricing, ROI models, and collateral for the sales force.· Drive measurable recurring revenue growth and co-sell pipeline expansion.Sales Enablement & Field Activation· Build enablement playbooks, objection handling guides, and ROI calculators to help sellers position cyber services.· Train sales and architects on assessment-to-solution pull-through frameworks.· Lead joint calls, solution sessions, and field workshops with OEM partners.· Partner with Alliance Manager/Marketing to generate thought leadership and co-branded content with strategic cyber partners Solution Engineering & Productization· Design and price repeatable offerings (e.g., packaged cyber solutions, data security assessment, Active Directory assessment, compliance assessment for NY DFS 500, etc.) that can be quoted and delivered quickly.· Translate technical capabilities into sales-ready deliverables (SOW templates, bundles, case studies).· Pilot and operationalize co-sell bundles (Zscaler + BeyondTrust, RedHat + Drata) for annuity streams.Operational Acceleration· Stand up a Cyber GTM Pod integrating sales, architecture, and consulting talent.· Establish quick-turn dashboards for assessment adoption, conversion rates, and recurring service growth.· Ensure delivery feedback loops to sales / account owners with delivery status, use cases along with 2-3 additional priorities to expand services domain into client accounts. Partner & OEM Leverage· Deepen relationships with OEMs to access co-funding, MDF, and co-sell incentives.· Create joint business plans and enablement kits with OEM partners.· Work with marketing and Alliances Manager to Co-host, with strategic cyber partners, two “lunch & learn” or “technical thought leadership” events for emerging partner categories (Identity, AI security, compliance automation) per month to shape demand and build cyber thought leader status to the market. e.g., Zero-Trust Architecture methodology for counties, school districts, and higher education with Emergent & Zscaler.
Qualifications
• Builder–Operator mindset; thrives on execution, iteration, and measurable results.• 12–15+ years in VAR, MSSP, or consulting GTM roles; technical depth in cloud, identity, or Zero Trust.• Proven success launching packaged services, enabling field sales, building and delivering assessments, and creating recurring cyber revenue.• High accountability, bias for action, excels in fast-paced / sales heavy environments.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership and leading by example.
- Versed in enterprise architecture and technology and ability to clearly articulate business architecture (vision, capability models, capability assessments) and technical architecture (current and future state capabilities, strategic roadmaps, solution best practices, reference architectures, design patterns).
- Proven technical background with a strong understanding of architecture complimented with experience of managing complex enterprise cloud transformations and driving appropriate strategic and pragmatic choices.
- Excellent written and oral communication, facilitation and advanced presentation skills, with ability to guide and influence senior leaders, customers and other key stakeholders
- Able to be flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
- Proven record of collaborating with and advising C-Suite teams.
