MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a cook.
- Must be able and willing to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
- Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in dietary at a long-term care facility.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Food Service Director and the Food Service Administrator in the day-to-day food service operation at the State Veterans' Nursing Home.
- Ensure that food is stored, prepared, distributed, and served under sanitary conditions.
- Ensure compliance with state and facility safety procedures in the operation of food production and cleaning of equipment.
- Ensure that clean and sanitary conditions are maintained in all areas of the kitchen food preparation and serving lines; turn on and set temperature on grills, stoves, deep fryer, and broiler.
- Operate and maintain equipment used according to Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) procedures.
- Record all temperatures in the temperature book (food and equipment).
- Report any faulty equipment to the Supervisor.
