About the role
Description
The Engineering Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing and organizing the technical documentation related to engineering processes, projects, and products. This role is crucial in ensuring that accurate and up-to-date information is readily available for the engineering team and company stakeholders.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain essential technical documentation including CAD, BOMs, quality requirements, operating procedures, work instructions and project checklists.
- Review and verify that all documents are complete and comply with the organization’s standards.
- Collaborate with cross functional team members on technical project deliverables.
- Plan and track the progress of document-related tasks, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Revision management of technical documents in business systems database.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience working in Supply Chain Management, Supplier Development, or Manufacturing Engineering. Practical experience with New Product Introduction within the fluid power industry.
- 2yr technical degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
- Experience ranging from 4- 10 years.
- Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP system.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of design process and related documentation.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality documents within a production environment.
- Review level knowledge of the Manufacturing routers, Work Instructions (WI's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), PPAP, and FAI processes.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, including AS9100, ISO9001, APQP, QMS, and Lean/Six Sigma.
- Ability to interpret Engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Capable of working independently and executing essential job functions with minimal supervision. Self-motivated, disciplined, and well-organized.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective persuasive and influencing skills, even when lacking formal authority. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
