Summary
2H ICU is a 12-bed Cardiovascular & Thoracic Critical Care Unit. Primarily serving adult and geriatric post-op cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries (CABG, Valve Replacement/Repair, TAVR, Bronch/Thor, and other thoracic and vascular surgeries). This unit also cares for general surgery post-op requiring intensive care, Pre and post critical cardiac Cath lab interventions, post cardiac arrest, sepsis, and complex care ICU patients. 2HICU also provides care for patients on multiple devices such as the Arctic Sun (Hypothermia protocol), ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CVVHD/CRRT.Job Description:

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.
S/he honors patients’ mind, body and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual.

As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
