About the role

Next Phase Solutions and Services is seeking an Enterprise Analytics Architect (Data Architect) to support a large-scale federal data modernization initiative focused on advancing enterprise analytics, predictive insights, and secure cloud-native data platforms.

In this role, you will design and optimize enterprise Lakehouse environments that enable trusted, scalable analytics across mission-critical operational systems. You will contribute to modernizing legacy reporting ecosystems into integrated, real-time, and self-service analytics capabilities within a structured federal environment.

This position requires prior experience supporting enterprise case management, adjudication, or immigration-related analytics platforms, as well as an understanding of the complexities of high-volume, high-visibility operational data environments within USCIS.

Experience navigating modernization efforts that transition from legacy reporting architecture to cloud-native Lakehouse solutions is highly valued.

This position supports a federal program and is contingent upon contract award and funding.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and optimize enterprise Lakehouse analytics environments
  • Design scalable data models supporting reporting, performance monitoring, and advanced analytics
  • Establish governance standards for enterprise dashboards and self-service analytics
  • Support modernization from legacy data warehouse/reporting systems to integrated cloud analytics platforms
  • Optimize SQL-based analytics engines and enterprise reporting repositories
  • Collaborate across engineering, DevSecOps, and data science teams to align analytics with operational mission trends
  • Ensure analytics platforms meet federal governance, privacy, and security requirements

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in analytics architecture, data architecture, or enterprise BI roles
  • Demonstrated experience supporting USCIS analytics, case management, or mission systems strongly preferred; comparable DHS component experience may be considered
  • Experience designing analytics solutions in AWS or similar cloud environments
  • Strong SQL expertise and analytics performance optimization experience
  • Experience with enterprise BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience working within structured governance and compliance frameworks
  • Must hold an active or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to modernization initiatives, transitioning from legacy data warehouse/reporting systems to cloud-native Lakehouse architectures.
  • Familiarity with Databricks Lakehouse architecture (Delta Lake)
  • Understanding of federal ICAM, data privacy, and secure data access models

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline

Certifications:

The following certifications are considered plus:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

Data and Analytics

  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
  • Databricks Lakehouse Enterprise
  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Architect
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate

General:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
  • Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus
