Business Systems Analyst – Senior (Team 01)

Purpose and Impact:
Amentum is searching for a Top-Secret cleared Business Systems Analyst to join our team in Washington, DC. You will be working in an organization that’s mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The entire section leverages agile and works to provide enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities to facilitate task management, cross-utilization, and address national intelligence priorities while protecting confidential data and sources.
You will collect, capture, and manage mission user needs from prioritization through concept development, and user story writing to support development and deployment. You will work with a fully integrated software development team practicing Agile software development to include software architects, software engineers, cloud engineers, test engineers and help desk specialists. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to consult on complex projects while considering the business implications of technology decisions to the current and future business environment.
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday 8-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead collection, capture, and management of mission user needs from prioritization through concept development, and user story writing to support development and deployment. Facilitate the gathering of business focused requirements to support a product team and product owner in defining the backlog and ensuring the users perspective is considered. Focus requirements gathering on improved usability, user experience, and driving user adoption and engagement. Identify core business needs and decompose and document in concepts of operation, story maps, briefings, and user stories; document business rules and construct workflow diagrams as needed. Provide consultation on complex projects while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Minimum of 7 years of experience collectively with the following:
- Gathering and analyzing business requirements supporting application development leveraging end-user requirements and decomposing those into well-structured requirements (epics/stories)
- Analyzing current business process/flow and providing recommendations for improvements
- Confidently communicating and validating requirements with relevant stakeholders
- Working knowledge of requirements management tools (Such as JIRA, TFS, etc.)
Security Clearance Required:
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field.
- In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements
Minimum Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with 3 years of related technical specialized experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile and or/SAFE certifications; Cloud certifications
- Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience with SAFe Agile Principles
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite of tools
- Experience presenting to executive level staff and customers
