Essential Function:   

The Licensed physical therapist assistant is responsible for administering therapeutic procedures or treatments based on the physical therapist's evaluation and plan of care. Contributes to departmental advancement through participation in in-service attendance/presentation as well as through constructive suggestions, participation in planning activities and program development.  

Demonstrates professional treatment skills:   

• Performs and documents treatment based on the short- and long-term goals established by evaluating physical therapist.  

• With guidance of the supervising PT, selects treatment techniques and modalities that will facilitate achievement of the goals for all patients.   

• Structures the treatment session according to the patient’s age, diagnosis, needs, behavioral response and family or caretaker involvement including physical environment, verbal reinforcement/instruction and behavior modification
