The software quality engineering team at Business Wire works on a wide array of applications ranging from on-premises to cloud. We support multiple development teams in several product areas. The Quality Engineering (QE) Lead will be a key member in Business Wire's continued digital transformation journey. The QE Lead will act as the voice for our customer. They will identify the right sets of tools and drive improvements to build robust automation testing frameworks across the organization to achieve the best quality and exceptional customer experience.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide Quality Engineering technical leadership and direction to ensure the team meets project deadlines with quality metrics.
- Act as a voice of our customers and maintain high standards of quality to deliver an exceptional user experience.
- Partner with Engineering leadership to drive a strategic vision for a test automation framework that supports functional testing.
- Champion engineering excellence, establish business metrics, and drive continuous operational improvement.
- Mentor and train Quality Engineers with diverse technical backgrounds.
- Look ahead and learn the new domains to proactively scope system and technology landscapes and prepare for the next challenge.
- Partner with members of the Technology team to design solutions and test strategies.
- Develop, create, and troubleshoot the test automation framework, standards, procedures, processes, and best practices across departments.
- Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve issues.
- Work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, prioritize your work and manage your own time to meet deadlines.
- Effectively communicate feedback and decisions to your internal team and external partners.
- Partner with the Release Manager to coordinate and improve test coverage for deploy events.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field and relevant work experience
- 8+ years of QA experience with a comprehensive understanding of manual and test automation concepts and methods
- 5+ years of experience creating, running, and troubleshooting automation scripts for testing web sites, services, mobile applications using open-source test tools, like Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Appium and JMeter
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript and able to demonstrate in a coding interview.
- Expertise in creating, maintaining, and running integration, functional, non-functional, end-to-end, automated testing, whether locally or through a build system and experience troubleshooting and diagnosing errors and failures.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and presentation skills allowing for clear and appropriate messaging across multiple levels and audiences.
- Experience with continuous integration build tools, like Jenkins.
- Experience working in a version control system, like GitHub.
- Demonstrate creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
- Experience with testing mobile applications.
- Experience with load, performance, and resilience testing (tools like Chaos Monkey).
- Exposure to microservice based architecture.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification.
- Experience with Docker.
- The base salary range for this position is $135K to $155K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
