What is needed to be our Associate Director of Ability Programs & Camp:

• 21+ years of age
• Bachelor’s degree related to Special Education or Adapted Physical Education preferred
• 2+  years of experience working with kids, teens, or adults with disabilities
• 2+ years of experience as a program instructor for kids, teens, or adults with disabilities
• 1+ years of experience with administrative experience in programming
• Previous supervisory experience/YMCA experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills, problem solving, supervision, communication and customer service skills
• Professional demeanor and the ability to work well with community, staff, and volunteers
• Listen First Training within six months of employment
• Proficient in Google Suite Products i.e. Sheets, Docs and Slides

 

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Associate Director of Ability Programs & Camp:

• Leadership of Club After 2 program, including program registration, staffing, communication with families, and curriculum development
• Leadership of all Friday Night Events, including event registration, staffing, communication with families and staff, and program creation and management (meeting enrollment metrics) 
• Leadership for all private lesson services, including scheduling, auditing, renewing, participant and staff communication
• Assist the Director of Ability Programs with providing leadership to our Life After 21 program, including participant intakes and enrollment, parent communication, behavior management, staffing/program coverage, and curriculum development among other tasks 
• Assist the Director of Ability Programs with providing leadership to Ability Summer Camp programming, including participant intakes and enrollment, parent communication, behavior management, staffing/coverage, curriculum development, among other tasks 
• Provide support to other ability programs and events as needed during afternoon, evening, and some weekend hours as program enrollment/staffing require
• Provide innovative, creative, and quality programs and events for the special needs population, based on data and need, with special attention to risk management compliance
• Foster a climate of high member engagement and satisfaction. Respond in a timely manner to requests, questions, concerns and/or complaints
• Ensure sustainability of programs while maintaining proper expenses
• Provide clear expectations of program content, services offered, and policies and procedures to ensure a high quality programming
• Uphold member service and risk management practices across locations
• Establish strategic relationships with like-minded organizations to address the special needs community; including collaborations in programs and events  
• Recruit, train and develop high quality staff, ensuring ongoing feedback and support 
• Demonstrate program and service innovation based on data and trends 
• Ensure that confidentiality is maintained with all members and participants
• Ensure staffing for all programming, whether that be through securing replacement staff to sub or subbing oneself 
• Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and sp
