Purpose
Research Engineering/ Scientist Associate V will integrate, optimize, maintain, and develop computational tools for modeling, inversion, and data integration for well logging analysis, subsurface quantification, and formation evaluation. This role bridges top-of-the-line research work, with practical applications, and tight collaboration with industry partners. This is an in-person role at our beautiful main campus, offering an engaging and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Develop 3D visualization and computation software for (a) efficient modeling and inversion of well logs acquired along arbitrary well trajectories, (b) in-well and inter-well formation evaluation, and (c) multi-core and parallel processing algorithms.
Develop multi-well, formation-dependent, interpretation methods using fast modeling and inversion utilities for high-resolution formation evaluation along arbitrary well trajectories.
Collaborate and integrate software developments with the formation evaluation software development team, students, and industry sponsors.
Prepares proposals to potential funding sponsors and acts as a liaison between them and the research unit.
