This Clinical Pharmacist Specialist Position is in the Ambulatory Oncology setting, with a focus on oral oncolytics in the outpatient Medical Oncology, Hematology Oncology, and Gynecologic Oncology clinics. In this position, the pharmacist provides a multitude of services. The pharmacist in this position provides comprehensive medication management for patients receiving oral oncology therapy under a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA). They assess patients, order and interpret laboratory tests, and initiate, modify, or discontinue oral cancer therapies and supportive care medications within the scope of the CPA. Monitor treatment effectiveness, manage medication-related toxicities, optimize dosing, and perform comprehensive medication reviews to identify and resolve therapy-related issues. Educate patients and caregivers on medication use, adherence, adverse effect management, and safe handling of oral oncolytics. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and Billings Clinic Specialty Pharmacy to coordinate care, facilitate medication access, and address financial and logistical barriers to treatment

Essential Job Functions

• Clinical Pharmacist I
Participates in day-to-day clinical patient care as appropriate for practice area
Reviews and interprets provider orders to ensure appropriate medication use. Contacts provider to clarify any questionable order.
Carefully checks all data entry, medication carts, and ADM fills for accuracy as appropriate.
Accurately and safely, prepares or supervises the preparation of all sterile (e.g., IV admixtures) and non-sterile products.
