This position works as a caseworker in Illinois and Iowa for the Preferred Communities (PC) Intensive Case Management (ICM) Program. This position’s responsibility is to maintain a caseload of 20 PC ICM clients and help them to reach their individual goals while empowering them to achieve stability in their lives. Goals may include establishing doctors, ensuring proper medical insurance, resolving medical bills, enrolling in school, changing their legal status, finding low-income housing, accessing WIC services, etc. This position will work closely with all other caseworkers and World Relief Quad Cities staff.

Role & Responsibilities
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Schedule & Follow-up Medical Appointments
- Coordinate with caseworkers to obtain referrals for follow-up appointments for chronic or contagious conditions, including latent TB and other infectious diseases
- Develop relationships with area specialist Medicaid providers
- Assist client with scheduling appointments and identifying methods of transportation to/from providers for clients without access to personal and/or public transportation
- Coordinate with medical providers to equip client to follow plan of care as directed Health Care Orientation
- Provide hands-on orientation to client of U.S. health care system through each appointment, including proper filling and following of prescription instructions
- Compile medical resource binder of providers and transportation options for distribution to clients
- Educate clients regarding western medical practices and preventative care
- Equip clients to appropriately address medical bills and statements received Refugee Orientation
- Educate providers on working cross culturally
- Assist providers with and facilitate interpretation services with local agencies
- Advocate for client in medical settings Goal-related Activities (if applicable)
- Enroll kids Pre K-12th grade in school
- Enroll adults in ESL classes
- Refer clients to immigration services and ensure that they have the necessary paperwork from the RICHD
- Ensure WIC-eligible clients receive WIC services
- Assist clients with public housing
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Experience in public health preferred
- Bilingual ability desired
Requirements
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Two-year degree from accredited University
- Cross-cultural experience required
- Valid Driver’s License, access to reliable vehicle and clean driving record
